Seongsu-dong is located in the eastern part of Seoul, right above the Han River. 

It's gaining a lot of attention lately due to its convenient transportation and proximity to the Han River

Many trendy places like Dior Seongsu and Blue Bottle Coffee have opened up shop here, garnering significant buzz on social media.

Particularly noteworthy is the presence of entertainment agencies like SM Entertainment and Cube Entertainment, resulting in many restaurants visited by idols. For K-pop enthusiasts, this neighborhood is definitely worth keeping an eye on!


2. How to get to Seongsu-dong

Seongsu-dong is easily accessible from anywhere since you can get there quickly from various locations. 


Just hop on Seoul's Subway Line 2 and get off at Seongsu Station. 

Subway Line 2 passes through major tourist destinations like Sinchon, Dongdaemun, and Gangnam, making it convenient to plan your route.

Do you know what "Gamjatang(감자탕)" is? 

It's a traditional Korean dish, a hearty soup made primarily with pork bones and potatoes. 

If you're curious about the taste of this Korean food, you should give it a try! 

After finishing the meat, you can also enjoy "fried rice" by stir-frying rice in the remaining broth.

I adore salted butter bread, so I have visited almost every famous bakery in Seoul. 

Yet, I haven't found anything as delicious as the salted butter bread here. 


The store opens at 10 a.m., but the bread is available from 11 a.m. on weekdays and 11:30 a.m. on holidays, so keep that in mind!


Recommended items: Salted Butter Bread (3.2), Croque Monsieur (12.0)



4-2. SEOULANGMUSAE

Opening Hours: 08:00 ~ 23:00

A cafe that offers a variety of bread, such as cinnamon rolls and croissants. 

The photo zone at the entrance is lovely. Most importantly, you can draw directly on the plates! 

Drawing was so much fun that I lost track of time decorating the plates. 

I recommend this place because you can enjoy both taste of bread and fun.

Recommended: Red bean & butter Kouign-Amann (6.0)



4-3. Peaches D8NE

📍9, Yeonmujang 3-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

Opening Hours: 11:00 ~ 21:00

"Peaches" is a Korean lifestyle brand based on street car culture. 

The flagship store opened in Seongsu-dong features various photo zones inspired by automobiles. 

Not only that, but it also hosts renowned restaurants like Knotted Donut and Downtowner Burger, making it a great place to spend time!


Recommended: Knotted Chocolate Tire Donut (4.0), Peaches Soda (6.5) (Peaches D8NE limited menu)



4-4. meal-do

Opening Hours: 11:00 ~ 21:30

The taste sticks to the basics, and the texture is chewy. 

It's no wonder there's always a line of people waiting outside the store. 

I highly recommend it!

5-1. Matin Kim Seongsu Special Store

‘Matin Kim’ is a famous designer brand based in Korea. 

They're opening a pop-up store in Seongsu-dong for three months starting in March. 

They sell accessories such as bags, hats, wallets, and phone cases.



5-2. Monami Store Seongsu

📍104, Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

Opening Hours: 10:00 ~ 21:00

(The third Monday of every month: 12:00 ~ 21:00)

Monami is the largest stationery manufacturing company in Korea. 

Here, you can create your own pen by combining the colors of pen parts as you like! 

Besides, there is a wide variety of stationery, and you might feel like time flies while browsing. 



5-3.POINT of VIEW SEOUL Seongsu Branch

If you're interested in browsing accessories or stationery shops in Korea, you should definitely visit. 

The interior is beautiful too, so it always puts me in a good mood whenever I go.



6. Also can't miss this place! Seoul Forest

📍273, Ttukseom-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

Another reason why Seongsu-dong is gaining popularity is because of its spacious green spaces right in the city center. 

Seoul Forest is said to be modeled after New York's Central Park! 


It's such a hot picnic spot among young people in Korea these days.

It takes about 10-15 minutes on foot from Seongsu Station. 

If you take Subway Line 2, getting off at Ttukseom Station or Seoul Forest Station on the Bundang Line is even closer.
